A person reportedly put screws in the roadway near a ballot drop box location in Northeast, D.C., as the 2024 elections remain underway, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. D.C. police

A person reportedly put screws in the roadway near a ballot drop box location in Northeast, D.C., as the 2024 elections remain underway, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

D.C. police said that at around 2 p.m., they were informed that a person placed screws in the roadway in the 1300 block of 5th Street near a ballot drop box.

Officials said they are investigating the incident and will continue to pay close attention to polling places and ballot drop-off locations through the evening.
