The Eagles are 6-2 and will roll into Dallas on Sunday with enough momentum and star power to hand the Cowboys their sixth loss and all but assure Jerry Jones’s team misses the postseason.
It wasn’t the most efficient outing, and Nick Sirianni left 8+ points on the board with questionable calls, but Philadelphia got stops on defense when needed. Nakobe Dean sealed the game with an end-zone interception to help secure a 28-23 win over Jacksonville.
A.J. Brown was forced to exit with a knee injury. Still, Saquon Barkley made highlight-reel plays, and DeVonta Smith was a rock as the Eagles’ offense struggled to put the Jaguars away. However, it was functional enough to stay within a game of Washington in the division.
With preparation for the Cowboys set to begin, here are the studs and duds from Sunday’s win.

The Eagles’ second-year defensive tackle is never on a snap count and has been unblockable in one-on-one situations. In Sunday’s win, Carter logged four tackles, but his presence was felt in all categories, per Shane Haff.
Jalen Carter tied career high marks in total pressures (6) and pressures against double teams (3) against the Jaguars. 5 of those pressures came against Jaguars RG Brandon Scherf, who had not allowed more than 4 pressures to a single player in any game in the past 7 years… pic.twitter.com/ETpM1048uv

Barkley had 199 yards from scrimmage on Sunday and has 1,071 yards this year — the most ever by an Eagles player through the first eight games of the season in franchise history.
All most people are talking about is his 180 backward leap over a defender.

We love the aggression, but sometimes, just taking the points can help with momentum.
The Eagles (6-2) held on for the win even after Sirianni passed up points, went 0 for two on fourth down, and were 0 for three on 2-point conversions, forcing them to let Jake Elliott try a 57-yard field goal with 2:16 left.
Elliott missed, giving the Jaguars (2-7) the ball at their 47-yard line.

Sweat had five tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, one pass defended and three QB hits.

Philadelphia had eight players catch a pass, including fullback/linebacker Ben VanSumeren. DeVonta Smith led the group with four catches for 87 yards and a touchdown, while Saquon Barkley helped replace A.J. Brown’s production with three catches for 40 yards. The often quiet Jahan Dotson had a circus catch for a huge gain.

Hurts was 18 of 24 for 230 yards. He threw for two scores and ran for another. Even more important, Hurts had his fifth straight game without an interception and 4th straight game w/out a turnover. According to Paul Domowitch, in his last four games, Hurts has averaged 10.2 yards per attempt. During the previous three games, he’s got a 75.9 completion percentage.

The Heisman Trophy winner always makes the tough plays and matched Barkley with an exhilierationg one-handed 25-yard TD grab late in the fourth that stretched the Eagles’ lead to 28-16.
