New Toy Story Land Anniversary Pins Debut at Walt Disney World
New pins celebrating the anniversary of multiple attractions in Toy Story Land
New pins celebrating the anniversary of multiple attractions in Toy Story Land are now available at the Celebrity 5&10 shop in Disney's Hollywood Studios, along Hollywood Boulevard. Here's an overview of the featured items below:
Each of the following are limited edition releases intended to celebrate the anniversaries for various Toy Story Land attractions.
A limited run of this cloisonné pin is capped at 3,000 available units. It features a Little Green Man on a blue saucer, with the attraction's logotype featured prominently along the top. It is the 5th anniversary of this ride, so "5th" is included on the pin itself as well as "5 YRS" being printed on the pin backing card.
Alien Swirling Saucers is a spinning ride, somewhat creating the sensation of riding a whip in a manner similar to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at Disney California Adventure or The Happy Ride With Baymax at Tokyo Disneyland.
A limited run of this pin is capped at 3,000 as well. This Slinky Dog Dash attraction pin is also released in celebration of its 5th anniversary, so "5YRS" is displayed on a watch face alongside colorful children's building blocks featuring silhouettes of iconic "Toy Story" characters. The pin backing card includes "5YRS" spelled out in children's toy blocks.
Slinky Dog Dash is a launched roller coaster designed to be both mild and thrilling enough for entire families to ride together. It features several references to the Toy Story films, along with a musical number from audio-animatronic Wheezy the Penguin.
The third pin released for this anniversary line is focused on the Toy Story Mania! (or Toy Story Midway Mania! at Disney California Adventure) attraction, which is 15 this year. This attraction predates Toy Story Land by a full decade, and showcases Woody, Buzz and Wheezy on stage holding targets.
Toy Story Mania! is an interactive dark ride, taking guests between various carnival midway games, where the goal is to reach the highest possible score using your provided cannon to fire at the 3-D screens.
The most recent addition to Toy Story Land is a new table service restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ is just beyond the giant Woody statue near the main entrance to Toy Story Land. Lanterns are tied onto the restaurant's sign with giant green twist ties. Like the rest of the land, there are various Tinker Toy pieces decorating the exterior. Bullseye also stands atop a green block decorated with a sheriff's badge sticker.
Like the rest of Toy Story Land, Roundup Rodeo BBQ is made to look like it was constructed out of various toys. The main building resembles a cardboard box.
The backstory of the restaurant involves Andy (owner of the toys in the first three films) building a rodeo restaurant out of his play things and other spare items. Pixar animators designed figures and created artwork unique to the venue, while Imagineers even created full original comic strips starring Woody, which Andy has used as part of the dining room ceiling.
